For those of you that need a Federal Reserve talking head to tell you, the economy is “tepid”. Jeffrey Lacker, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond delivered the message. You probably have a better word for the economy that fits your situation.

He also said that inflation remains unacceptably high. Funny, nobody of any importance in the public eye ever says what that means. If you read this blog, you do know. Nevertheless, financial wizards are looking at the Fed to make it all better.

Most Americans realize that the economy is in dumper and are feeling the pressure. Some Americans continue to do very well. Counting your “blessings” is a good way to live. The economy doesn’t have to define every aspect of your life. Smelling the roses may be exactly what you need the most, even if you are unemployed.

Meanwhile, bankers and financial wizards are worried out of their collective minds, as if worrying and fretting is going solve the problem by itself. Perhaps we all need a better life plan that is not entirely money-centered. Can we ever stop worrying about retirement? Perish the thought. Worrying is the American way.
