Italy to Take Census and Fingerprints

fingerprinting immigrant childrenItalian Interior Minister Roberto Maroni has announced plans to conduct a census under which all Italian immigrants would be fingerprinted. The European Commission proclaimed that such a move would violate EU anti-discrimination rules and the respect for fundamental rights.

Maroni claimed, “It is a proper census to guarantee that those who have the right to stay can live in decent conditions and to let us send home those who don’t have the right to stay in Italy.”

The plans to fingerprint Italian immigrants and citizens drew comparisons to the policies of Benito Mussolini, the country fascist leader during the second world war. Italy intends to make illegal immigration a criminal offense. Clearly, Italian authorities continue to drive subversive policy against human rights across the board, including through the world of central banking in order to obtain more world power.
